Ron Calvert

Ron Calvert

An active competitive trap shooter with the Hamilton Gun Club, Ron registered his first ATA targets in 2000. Since then Ron shot a total of 38,100 singles, 34,000 handicap and 14,400 doubles, for a total of 85,500 targets and… counting!! Living in Thunder Bay for a good number of years, Ron had to travel far to make the best shoots in the country and the USA.

“Trivia perhaps but the Missouri home grounds were exactly 1000 miles south of Thunder Bay, the farthest south green pin, the Stockdale Gun Club in Iowa where the Hartland Grand is held and tornadoes are common was an even 500; Hamilton was about 950 miles.  My rule was that if I drove 500 miles I needed at least 1000 targets; the Southwest Grand in San Antonio was a 2500 target shoot; the most of any, I think”, says Ron who continues to travel and attend major tournaments.
